A difficult map to succeed the current president of Merengu
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has sprung a major surprise by announcing the club’s early candidacy amid the crushing crisis Merengue are currently experiencing after failing to win a major title in the past two seasons.
The newspaper Marca revealed that the regulations of “Real” Madrid are very clear regarding the conditions necessary for running for the position of president of the White Club.
The club sets a number of specific conditions that any candidate must fulfill before participating in the elections.
According to the Spanish periodical, the following conditions are necessary to claim the position of president of “Real Madrid”.
Must be Spanish.
He must be an adult and have full (legal) capacity.
To be faithful to his social responsibilities (to the club).
To be a member of the club for a period of no less than 20 years for the president, 15 years for the vice-presidents, and 10 years in other cases.
He is not subject to a penalty preventing him from assuming administrative positions.
He must not hold a managerial position in other football clubs and must not be an active player, referee, coach or technician in those clubs at the time of announcing his candidacy.
The candidate must present a preliminary personal financial assessment from an institution registered with a Spanish bank covering at least 15% of the total (annual club) budget.
