British bantamweight Francesca Hennessy’s fight against Aurora Di Percio will be shown live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
The contest will be part of a boxing event Adam Azim’s fight title May 30 against Steve Claggett at Wembley Arena, London.
Hennessey will be aiming to defend his WBC silver bantamweight title against Italian Di Percio in a fight against undisputed bantamweight champion Chernecka Johnson later this year.
“It’s another important test for me,” said the 21-year-old Hennessy. “I’ve always wanted to challenge myself against good opponents because that will prepare me for the world title fight.”
Hennessey defeated Eli Boutel In his last outing he extended his 100% record to eight wins from eight fights, while De Percio has eight wins and one loss from nine fights.
Hennessy aims to become the youngest undisputed champion in boxing history.
The record is currently held by Gabriela Fundora, who achieved the feat at flyweight at the age of 22 years and 218 days – meaning Hennessy, who turns 22 in October, has until 26 May 2027 to do so.
“I know what I want to achieve in this sport and every fight is another step to becoming a world champion,” said Hennessy.
“I’m focused, improving every camp and I can’t wait to do a show on May 30.”
