NHS staff face ‘unprecedented’ levels of racism from patients.

There were 8,235 such reports in 2024 from 106 trusts that provided data, a 17% increase on 7,002 reports in 2023. Many faiths did not register reports of racism before 2023, meaning older comparative figures are not available, but campaigners say the issue has been growing for several years.
