Former England spinner Kirsty Gordon is set to make her first Scotland appearance in almost nine years after being named in their squad for the T20 World Cup.
Gordon, 28, played 60 times for Scotland before pursuing a full-time career in the English professional system.
Born in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, she played in five matches in the 2018 Women’s T20 World Cup as England finished runners-up and also played a Test match against Australia in 2019.
He committed his future to Scotland last December, but has recently recovered from a back injury.
Catherine Bryce captains a group that made three changes from the World Cup qualifiers in Nepal earlier this year.
Niamh Robertson-Jack, Molly Parker and Hannah Rainey – who left the Nepal squad due to injury – are out – young seam duo Gabriela Fontenella and Maisie Massera are both included along with Gordon.
Robertson-Jack and Ellen Watson will join a larger squad for a pre-tournament tri-series against the Netherlands and Bangladesh, before the Scots travel to Manchester for their first World Cup match against Ireland at Old Trafford on June 13.
England, West Indies, New Zealand and Sri Lanka along with Scotland in Group B.
“It’s a huge boost (to have Kirsty available) as a player and as a person,” head coach Craig Wallace said.
“How well we’re playing is the easiest sell. We’re going to this World Cup and hopefully more World Cups. It’s bigger and better than his (Scotland) debut.
“He has outstanding skills and experience from what he has done earlier in his career.
“There’s also a lot more that I hope I can get out of that.”
