Glasgow Warriors could host the URC final in Belfast

Glasgow Warriors have been forced to look for a venue outside Scotland to host the United Rugby Championship final if they progress that far – and are considering Belfast’s Aphidia Stadium.

With no suitable Scottish venue available, including their own Scotstown Stadium on June 20, they have had to look elsewhere.

The Warriors currently lead the URC table and a bonus-point win away to Ulster on Friday would ensure top spot – and with it top seed and home advantage in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.

Glasgow will play Scotstown on May 30 if they have their home quarter-final, but the venue will be handed over to Glasgow 2026 in preparation for the Commonwealth Games.

A possible home semi-final on June 6 will therefore be switched to Murrayfield Stadium, but Scottish Rugby is unavailable to host a home final as it stages a series of summer music concerts.
