The footage behind Portugal’s Joao Cancelo’s sacking from Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the Saudi Roshen League has been revealed by the media, following the footballer’s latest comments after winning the Spanish title with Barcelona.
Cancelo said in his exciting statements. “After all, I’m a man of my word, and I’m not as bad as it seems to everyone. They stopped me from registering on the local list when the moment of truth came,” referring to his displeasure with his treatment at Al Hilal.
According to sources on Al Arabiya FM’s Malaeb programme, Al Hilal coach Simone Inzaghi believed the player was not physically and technically ready, especially due to his recurring injuries which forced him off the locals’ roster before Cancelo asked to leave.

The sources added that the player’s statements that Al Hilal did not fulfill their promise to include him in the list seem correct from his point of view, but they do not condemn the club, as technical decisions change according to the needs of the team and the vision of the coach.
Al Hilal loaned Cancelo to Barcelona in the last winter transfer window after he left Italy manager Simone Inzaghi before the player regained form and came on strong for the Catalan side.
