Logitech’s compact folding mouse works well on a laptop’s trackpad

Logitech says it’s developing a new wireless mouse that folds in half for easy portability in a pocket or purse. According to leaked commercial photos with them WinFutureLogitech’s foldable mouse resulted in “a 22 percent reduction in muscle mass” compared to using a laptop trackpad, and can be used on “multiple operating systems.”

Logitech designs are similar to Microsoft’s Surface Arc mouse and Lenovo Yoga Mouseplaying the same arched shape when extended for use. One big difference is that while Microsoft and Lenovo’s offerings can be folded continuously, Logitech’s new mouse — whose name is still unknown — folds in half like a clamshell. There are no official specifications or measurements available yet, but one image shows that it is very flexible when folded, looking smaller than the hand that is pocketing it.

Instead of the old scroll wheel, WinFuture reports Logitech’s new mouse will feature a so-called “Adaptive Touch Scrolling” feature between the two mouse buttons that enables users to scroll by swiping on a small trackpad. A green light can be seen on the hard touch panel, which may indicate a wireless connection. The new Logitech mouse can be paired with up to three Bluetooth-enabled devices, according to WinFutureand its interface allows it to be used by both left and right handed users.

There are also promotional images in this leak which claim that the new mouse is “perfectly compatible” with Logitech’s design. Keys-to-Go 2 portable keyboard. We only see the gray color of the mouse in these leaked images, but since the keyboard also comes in white and lilac, other color options may be available.

For more information on price, battery life, and availability, we’ll have to wait for Logitech to announce it.
