NBA Playoffs: Oklahoma City Thunder beat San Antonio Spurs to reach finals

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 32 points and overcame a slow start as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the San Antonio Spurs 127-114 to reach their second straight NBA Finals.

Gilgeous-Alexander missed his first four shots in the Western Conference finals at Oklahoma City, but the Thunder rallied with five straight points to overturn an early eight-point deficit.

The hosts took an 11-point lead before scoring the first nine points of the third quarter to take a 3-2 lead out of the best-of-seven series.

Two-time MVP Gilgeous-Alexander made just seven of 19 field goals, but hit 16 of 17 free throws.

“If I had four or five outside of me, we would have been down by 20 after the first quarter,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “(I) probably shouldn’t start like that again.”

Jared McCain stepped in for Cason Wallace and got off to an impressive start, scoring 18 points and finishing with 20 after halftime.

In the fourth game, Alex Caruso went scoreless with 22 points.
